Regent Message, May 5th, 2020:
Dear CDA Sisters,
I hope this email finds you all safe and healthy as we continue to navigate through COVID-19. Catholic Daughters are powerful prayer warriors and I know God hears all of our prayers and is with us and guiding us through this pandemic.
National and State CDA has advised that courts will not meet until the churches have opened up. However, National Regent Olga Samaniego has requested that courts finalize electronic voting for new officers and send the names of elected officers to State and National as soon as possible. Our slate of New Officers for the 2020-2022 term that have been nominated and received 82 “ayes” and 0 “nayes” electronic votes are:
Regent: Christina Rosch
Vice Regent: Teresa Brown
Recording Secretary: Leslie Nagel
Financial Secretary: Joan Peterson
Treasurer: JoAnn Anderson
Thank you to all that have participated in voting. This slate of New Officers for Court 216 will be submitted to National and State as requested. If Holy Trinity is open, we will have Installation of New Officers at Corpus Christi Church on June 11 at 6 pm.
Food Committees: I am asking the monthly Food Committee Chairs to contact their ladies to see if they are willing to continue to serve on their current month for the next 2020-2022 term and report back to me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org so that I can begin the process of putting together the next 2-year CDA Booklet to be printed in June. Please also report any telephone number changes needed from the last booklet to me. This will help the process in case we cannot meet at our CDA meeting on May 14.
Dues: Dues statements will go out in late June. Of course, there is no penalty for early payment 🙂 Dues remain at $33 made payable to CDA Court 216. You can mail your $33 check to me during this transition of officers – Christina Rosch, 1305 8th Avenue North, Fort Dodge, IA 50501.
If you have any questions at all, please let me know. Of course, I will keep you advised on all CDA guidelines as I receive them. Until we meet again, stay safe and well.
A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
Adapted from the prayer of Pope Francis
O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross, took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and we are confident you will provide for us as at Cana in Galilee. Intercede for us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for those charged with protecting the health and safety of others and for those who are tending to the sick and seeking a cure. Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the Resurrection. Amen.
Under thy protection we seek refuge, O Holy Mother of God. In our needs, despise not our petitions, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
In Unity and Charity,
Regent Christina Rosch
Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
